sniffle sniffle

you know, i don't think there's one 'Grey's Anatomy' episode during which i haven't teared up, atleast a LITTLE bit. in some, i've let the tears out, and in some rare ones, i've bawled. who knew a tv show could tug at my emotions like that? for some reason, i'm so attached to these characters. i finally finished Season 2. the last episode was really crazy. there were so many scenes that had me choked up, and towards the end, from the moment Denny died, i cried until the end. when did i allow tv shows to turn me into such a sappy basketcase?? i need to get a grip on myself. haha. i can't wait to start the episodes from Season 3 now. i'm so beyond hooked. it's definitely turned into one of my favorite tv shows!

speaking of tv shows, SANJAYA IS OUT! divya and i squealed our lungs out when the result was announced on 'American Idol' tonight. finally, finally, finally. good riddance to bad rubbish, is what i say.

p.s - it's my roomie's birthday! happy birthday, divya. :)

yeah, i liked his character a lot too. it was that EXACT screenshot that you have in your usericon that tore me up... just seeing her lie next to him like that. :\

oh i agree!! i cried the hardest after cristina has an operation and she's lying in the hospital bed and burke lies down next to her, hugging her as she's sobbing. it gets me every time. funny, i was just thinking about that scene today.

It's after she has the surgery for her pregnancy at the beginning of S2 (I think). They've used that idea a couple more times throughout S3 so far with different characters too (don't worry, not integral to any plot points).

roopa just reminded me of what specific scene that was, and i remember it now. so breathe easy - i HAVE watched it. heheh. i watched all the episodes of Grey's until the end of season 2 now, and will begin season 3 soon. :)

i'm sorry, babe, but no matter WHAT, no one can get me to like this kid. sure, he seems sweet and all that, but this is first and foremost a singing competition, and he definitely isn't even in the same league as the rest of the contestants to even be competing with them.

I don't think there was any argument about him not being able to sing - most people agree to that. The support he gets is based on the fact that he has huge enthusiasm and that he is a lovable persona. I'm just surprised at how annoyed people have got at AI and at Sanjaya. He is a kid for gosh's sake!

well, i never ragged on his fun persona. that's fine that he's lovable and a kid and whatnot... but once again, this is a singing competition. he shouldn't be getting ahead on votes that he earned thru his PERSONA rather than his singing. if he could sing a little bit better, had more vocal variations, and had a stronger voice, the argument for keeping him on the show would be SO much stronger too. but he doesn't. an American Idol isn't just about persona, but about singing talent too.

having him progress every week as MUCH more talented contestants were being voted off... well, that's just wrong and discredits the basis of the show itself.

Unfortunately, it is foremost a popularity contest, the singing is secondary. Just look at the past seasons. :S

you do have a point... but past seasons, the people who were popular and got thru, could definitely sing a lot better than sanjaya?! that's my main point. popularity aside, his singing doesn't even come close to the others.

but hey, i don't know why i am arguing like i'm such a fanatic of this show (which, btw, i really am not... i've only half-watched one other season, besides this one). oh well, each to their own, right? :)

The one where Denny dies makes me BAWL. Plus they're playing one of my favourite songs in the background during the whole thing (starting when she first gets in the elevator). That makes it that much more personal to me somehow, you know?

couldn't agree more. it's a beautiful song, and you're right, it makes it more personal that it starts playing as soon as we see her enter the elevator. it's just... such a heartwrenching scene when she's laying next to him in bed, just holding onto to his dead body, not wanting to let go, even though he's gone already. :\
